From Brighton to South Africa!

Ex-MSFer Ali has been in touch to tell us some very exciting news about her and new husband-to-be Charlie.

"4 years ago, just as the site was starting out, I met Charlie and in August last year he asked me to marry him.

So we're busy organising the wedding which is in South Africa in June. None of it would have happened without you!"
 
As with all great success stories, the first date and all the nerves that come with it can play a big part, and Ali and Charlie's story is no exception.

The First Date
"I was very nervous" writes Ali. "We'd been writing to each other for about 3 months so I'd built Charlie up in my head to be someone special.

With other dates I'd had on the site I'd met them after exchanging just a couple of messages and kept the dates short. But with Charlie living in Brighton and me in London we decided to meet for Sunday lunch in Brighton, which meant there was no quick escape after 5 minutes if it didn't look promising.

Neither of us ate very much as we were both nervous but the date went well (obviously!) and we went on to have a cup of tea extending the afternoon."

Beyond those First Date nerves
"By the time we had met we had clearly established a lot of common interests in our emails. I liked his smile and he liked mine.

We took our dates quite slowly to start with but both had a similar view of things and slowly the relationship developed. We both love travelling, eating out and adventurous activities so our dates were always out doing different things."
