We know how hugely frustrating it can be to send a mail and not receive a reply but the truth is it does sometimes happen. Feedback into the blog tells us that some people don't reply if they don't think you are suited to them (clearly you weren't! You're looking for someone with manners aren't you!).
We have also heard from users that it can be a bit of a turn off if someone talks about themselves a lot in their opening email. Emails that are poorly spelled are also a real no no. Keep your mails short and upbeat, refer to the recipients profile or something you have in common and try to make them smile.
Just as it is out in the big wide world in some cases the people you fancy won't fancy you back. If someone doesn't respond to your mail you've got to be philosophical about it; chalk it up to experience and move on. The more mail you send the more likely you are to receive responses. Just shrug it off if you don't get a response and feel a bit smug when you do.
And most importantly, remember to enjoy yourself!
Whilst we're on the subject just a quick reminder; a polite reply is always appreciated, even if it's a simple thanks but no thanks. Someone's taken the time to write to you, so why not return the favour?
