Here comes the science bit

Ladies and gents, to delight your eyes and stimulate your brain, we've created some word clouds based on mysinglefriend.com descriptions. We've taken the 100 most recently logged in profiles of men aged 20-30 in London and the same in Manchester, fed them into our super-computer and these were the results:

Sex: male Age: 20-30 Area: London

Sex: male Age: 20-30 Area: Manchester

So, the most commonly used words in descriptions are the same with both areas: 'good', 'great', 'friend', 'always'. This is to be expected, as this is a place to big up your mates and be nice about them. If the site was called mysingleenemy.com, these clouds might look a little different.

The real interest lies in the detail. 'Caring' and 'loving' make it into the Manchester cloud, though are absent from London and vice versa with 'thoughtful' and 'genuine'. The Mancunians are 'confident', Londoners are 'kind'. In terms of interests, the London descriptions feature 'food', 'pub','travelled' and 'party' whereas Manchester has 'film', suggesting those in London are a little more outgoing, though both places have 'football' and 'music'.

Also of note are the names that made it through. Whether these names have a higher incidence than usual in these places or their friends just use their names more we can't know, but here they are: Manchester favours Adam and Simon and London has got a lot of blokes called James.
