Profile of the week: Alice
mysinglefriend.com is awash with brilliant profiles. They might be funny, clever, sincere, strange or just have a really great photo, but something will make them stand out. Each week we're going to be picking our favourite profile and sharing it with all of you. But this isn't a one way street; if you've seen a really good profile or even if you'd like to nominate your own, you can get in touch with us at blog@mysinglefriend.com and tell us all about it.
This week we have the very interesting sounding Alice.
Alice is one special lady. Imagine a cross between Alexa Chung, Mary Poppins and Rolf Harris and you're halfway there, really.
Half the week she's a teacher of art, benevolently bestowing her knowledge and a spoonful of sugar on grateful youngsters, the other half she works for a super trendy music website, rocking a heavy fringe and dealing with televisions out of windows and cars in swimming pools. She wears skinny jeans and everything, but don't ask her what her favourite type of music is (the answer will be 'live', which you can translate however you like).
On the weekend she morphs like a Power Ranger into an artist and set designer. Recent sets have included a Cuban shanty town, a 1950s power station/village marquee and a Viking cricket pitch in space. She also masterminds and designs pop up restaurants, exhibits her work in highbrow galleries and plays the wobble board*.
She's a very funny lady and can regale you with a wealth of excellent/odd anecdotes (ask her about the mercy dash to Moscow, the children of the German royal family and embarrassing herself onstage with a moderately well known whimsical pop band). She'll laugh at your jokes. She'll join you in a range of beverages. She'll turn up pretty much on time. What more can you ask for?
*This is a lie. But she'll give it a bash if you bring one along.
