Nearly a near miss

Let us introduce Ewen and Susanna, mysinglefriend.com's latest happy couple. They deserve added congratulations because, from the sound of things, it very nearly didn't happen...

"I've been dating for a long time, about two and a half years," says Susanna. "I wasn't sure if I was too picky or just really indecisive. I was determined not to just settle, it had to be someone who would add something to the life I already loved but it was starting to feel like a job so I thought it was time to give it a break for a while...my last date before I did so was Ewen."

"Ewen cancelled our first date (I think he had to see a man about a boat). The next time we were due to meet I was full of cold but I thought if I cancel this date it will fizzle out and we'll never meet."

Luckily Susanna didn't cancel and they did meet. However, romance took a little while to properly bloom as there was the awkward matter of the first kiss...

"I wasn't sure how to guage the situation in case it was too early to kiss," says Ewen. "We went to the theatre and, walking home, there was a golden opportunity but I lost my nerve and didn't kiss Susanna. She later texted me (and I quote) 'You're so polite it's killing me' and 'Not even a KISS'. For me Susanna was truly lovely  and I was showing her respect."

Presumably Ewen eventually took Susanna's not-too-subtle hints about the whole kissing thing because now they are planning their future together. Ewen's friend Anouk adds: 'They are both obviously smitten with each other as well as extremely comfortable in each others presence. I am beyond thrilled to have played a part in their meeting on mysinglefriend.com and I can't wait to get to know Susanna better. Here's a toast to the beginning of something special."
