Rachel and Tom

Ladies and gentlemen, we'd like to introduce our latest happy couple Rachel and Tom. They got in touch to let us know about their recent engagement and their wedding which will take place next summer.

"We had both tried online dating before with other sites," Rachel told us. "The problem with other sites is that when people write their own profile they tend to write the same predictable stuff. The great thing about MSF is that you get someone else's opinion and find out about the qualities that they might not mention about themselves, like being a hilarious story teller, reassuring in a crisis or always putting other people first. I always tell people to persevere with online dating because it's about timing. Don't despair if you don't meet someone in the first month, your perfect match might be just around the corner.

For our first date Tom and I met at Covent Garden tube station after work. I remember seeing him and wishing I had worn heels as he was SO tall. We went to the pub for a few casual drinks and before we knew it, it was kicking out time. We both fancied each other rotten and we made each other laugh. We do have lots in common but we're also very different in a lot of ways. I don't think it's true that you have to have loads in common to make a relationship work; it's good to have things to debate about and someone to share new experiences with and open your eyes to something you may not have looked at before.

I start teacher training this year and Tom is already a teacher so we're getting married in the summer holidays after I finish. Getting married will be the perfect way to end a year of sleep deprivation and stress! I'm praying for good weather because I want to get married outside at the venue we have booked. S Tom is organising the honeymoon. I love surprises so he'll just tell me what to pack and I'll find out our destination when we get to the airport!

I lived in South London and Tom in North London when we went on our first date. We would never have met by chance so I'm glad we were both on the site at the same time. Thanks Sarah Beeny and all the MSF team for bringing us together; we'll definitely be raising a toast to you at the wedding!"
