Success story: Kate and Charlie
What better way to start the week than with a mysinglefriend.com success story, especially on such a lovely, sunny Monday morning. This week Kate and Charlie got in touch to tell us their story.
"I think we both felt that we'd exhausted meeting people via the 'normal' route and, altough a little cautious, we both thought online dating might be a fun way to meet some new people," Kate told us. "We never really entered into it to meet 'The One' but more to see what might happen."
"Our first date was at a bar and we both immediately made our excuses in case we needed to bail out early! A few hours in I thought Charlie seemed really nice and quite fancied him but I felt he wasn't giving me any signs and was probably too polite to make his getaway. I gave him an opportunity to duck out by saying I should go and meet a friend in a bar down the road and he could come along too, expecting him to say no, but when he agreed I thought maybe he was interested after all. Meanwhile, Charlie had been thinking he'd been giving me all these signs (these included talking to me and not leaving!). Several drinks later saw me going in for the kiss and the rest is history!
Although we have some quite different interests, we certainly have some common values which is really important to us both. Everything really did just feel right and natural. We actually went to the same uni and know some of the same people, although we would never have met through them so we needed MSF to get us started.
We're currently living together in Sydney and planning our UK wedding from the other side of the world. Getting married is really exciting and we've booked a lovely venue in my home county for September 2012. We're planning to use our MSF profiles in our save the date notes and emails so everyone knows that we're comfortable with having met online, in fact we're pretty proud of it! As for the honeymoon we're not really sure yet, our dream would be a road trip across the US but we'll have to see how the budget goes for that one."
