Whyyyy don't we.....

Thursday, 8 November 2007

We get asked quite often why we don't do certain things so thought it might be useful to blog to you all:

Why can't you see the date/time someone last logged in?

We tried this feature in response to your feedback (it was often requested), however, after only a few days of the time/date being online - the complaints were too many! Although some people felt they would like to see when others had the opportunity to read their email, most reported (once the feature was live) that they appreciated keeping their own activity to themselves. So, the overall feedback was that this function was rather too intrusive.

DO NOTE: The order of any search results (while you are logged in) is still ordered by 'last logged in' (it's only the time and day that has been hidden), so you still get a good idea. Don't forget that every time you login you go to the top of the searches (good way to get noticed!)...you can test this by doing a search a few seconds apart and you'll see new people logging in (i.e. new people at the top).

Why can't you see who is paying and who is not?

Simply because it wouldn't be fair on the non-payers (or people in between payments). They wouldn't get emailed and they want a message, that's why they are here! To put your mind at rest, at the moment about 65% of the community are chatting at any time - and we disable old profiles that have not logged in for an age.

Why don't you get a useful link to your profile in your update emails?

We sometimes struggle to get our emails through your email systems. Popping a link in the email will make the email less desirable to your email server. Why not just add us to your faves?

Hope that's useful!
