Having lost the friendship of my my parents and Shelly's mother, it would be good to find someone as a friend/companion (and "maybe more" as is often said!), someone to share and enjoy the good things in life, someone to share my 'toys' with - and apparently someone to instruct me in the ways of being "more emotionally wired" - although I think I would 'draw the line' at Karaoke!!

Jon is definitely 'untapped territory'. A close family friend for nearly 28 years we perhaps see a different side to him that others don't often get the chance to.
He is amazingly talented with anything of an engineering or mechanical bent and is a true perfectionist. Whatever he chooses to put his efforts to it is guaranteed to be crafted with a careful eye for detail whether it is handmaking a replacement part for a broken boiler or building a helicopter (yes, a helicopter!!). He loves the challenge of learning to master new skills and totally absorbs himself in his work and hobbies.
And herein lies his problem...
From the outside he can sometimes give off an air of being a bit unapproachable. He doesn't suffer fools, is very independent, incredibly practical and a logical and intelligent deep thinker. My mum always said it was because he is an Aquarius (no offence to Aquarians!!) but whatever the reason these qualities do not tend to mix easily in normal social situations in the company of more emotionally wired individuals. As a result it can take a lot longer to really get to know him as all his best qualities are well protected beneath the surface.
The Jon that we know is always there to lend a hand, is generous, thoughtful, loyal and trustworthy. He is a fantastic and surprisingly patient teacher who enjoys passing on his knowledge and skills to others and has a strong adventurous streak loving anything that goes fast, sounds loud or flies. He is very special to all of us and deserves to find someone to love him as much as we do. If you have a strong character and an adventurous spirit that is willing to look beyond first impressions then you will be very well rewarded.
