In His Own Words

About him

I reckon I'm not alone in thinking the self-summary section is by far the hardest part to complete. It's like the first thirty seconds of an interview...

Sitting comfortably? Great. Hopefully this will be suitably succinct...

The best way I'm going to describe myself will be through some examples:

1) I love socialising and meeting new people all the time
Example: I'm the one who makes friends on the night bus home (in fact my last housemate was a D7 bus regular!)

2) I have a general thirst and interest in everything.
Example: from inebriated conversations about epigenomics to sober conversations about who is going to win X Factor this year. Or should that be the other way round?

3) I love my friends and family and enjoy helping others.
Example 1: I'm always around for 24hr support services for my friends. It is free, but I do accrue 'credits' so I can use their services from time to time :-)
Example 2: u

4) I am rather spontaneous
Example: I once gave my friend 4 hours' notice to pack for an all-inclusive free ticket to the Dominican Republic. Apparently that's not enough time to find a passport, go summer holiday shopping, ask work for permission to take annual leave and find a decent sized suitcase which has two working base wheels.

5) I always have a list of things that "only happen to me"
Examples: nearly getting robbed 750 by a one-eyed woman called Betty, getting stuck on the tube in a tunnel for over 2hrs and having to walk along the track, turning up to what I thought was a costume party as Where's Whally only to find out it was a regular party, taken 'hostage' recently by a taxi driver. You couldn't make it up!

What His Friends Say

How do you solve a problem like Mark? If you know which musical that comes from, it's a good start.

I met Mark in my first week at uni and we've been great friends ever since. He is one of the funniest, most generous, honest and best people I know.

Best way to describe Mark is probably to run through a week in the life of ... *

o Monday: work (i.e. start email chains), gym, night in, tinkle on the piano
o Tuesday: work, pub quiz
o Wednesday: work, gym, night in, tinkle on the piano
o Thursday: work, theatre/musical/drinks
o Friday: work, dinner party (hosting/attending)
o Saturday: relaxing, shopping, gym, out about in town
o Sunday: relaxing, cinema

* please note that this "week" is a typical week and if you do get to know Mark better, his week may not be *exactly* as described (!)

Other things that Mark is interested in include his love of travelling (so far he's been to the US, Mexico, most of Europe), learning new languages, trying his hand at flying and at most things really. He's an intelligent, inquisitive guy who's always keen to try out new things, whether it be sports, countries or food.

So to conclude... the whole point of the above was to show you how great a guy Mark is, but the best way to find out is to get to know him yourself.
