Neil and I have been friends for what seems like a VERY long time now. I still remember the first time we met, he turned up late to our first tutor group session at Uni, dressed in what can only be described as a classy One Nation bomber jacket which made him look like the Michelin man! First impressions are everything, and you could tell that he obviously had a great sense of humour - you'd have to to wear that jacket!! Luckily Neil's dress sense has improved somewhat over the years and he's now hung up his "favourite" jacket in favour of more appropriate clothing (some of it anyway).

I think the best way for me to convey a little about the man himself is not to list a load of adjectives about how great he is but to note down a few of the experiences I've had with him and let you make up your own mind as to the type of guy he is.

1. He turned up out of the blue on my door step in Abu Dhabi (where I live) as a surprise to join my 30th birthday celebrations.

2. Neil always makes time to speak/see his family and friends, no matter how busy he is at work (which he's very successful at by the way, but I'll let him give you the details).

3. We've been on a number of trips over the years - weekends visiting mates who've dispersed around the country, stag dos & weddings, end of year celebratory holiday in Barbados and of course Abu Dhabi. Most of these involve a variety of activities (canoeing, mountain biking, walking, Dune Bashing) and well if I'm honest boozing.

4. A few years back we went on a stag do in Wales where the best man failed to organise any evening entertainment other than going to the local pub. Neil decided that wasn't quite good enough so took it upon himself to get things going and made sure the groom and the rest of the crew didn't only end up with only pub jenga stories at the end of the night. How he found a foam party that went on until 3am in deepest darkest Wales I'll never know!!!

5. Barbados - the comedy events are too numerous to list here but I distinctly remember him using his Jiu-jitsu skills to great effect on a few of guys in the national judo squad - much to their dismay. As for the beach party you'll have to ask him about the Coconut Man incident!!!

In short Neil is a really sound guy, he's got something for everyone and is a great person to be around. Any girl would be lucky to have him in their life.
