Where to start describing my friend, Jan....here goes:

Starting with the 'serious' bit...Jan is kind, genuine, thoughtful, always has time for other people, loves travel, a true lover of fast cars and is a stylish-dresser with an AMAZING eye for interior design (she'll tell you if your pictures are hanging too high or if you need a splash of Elephant's Breath in your downstairs loo). Have to mention sailing - it is a big, big part of Jan's life. If you like sailing the seven seas, then great - that's a bonus but I don't think you'd need to be Capt Jack Sparrow to woo her. She certainly knows her sailing stuff though and she has the t-shirt to prove it - but, actually, forget that, she has the story of being taken off a sailing boat in the middle of the Caribbean on a stretcher to prove it. Ask her about that on date one, it's a good'un and if that doesn't get the conversation started, then I don't know what will. She's a spiritual lady, but not in the 'wacky' sense so-to-speak (we're not talking non-stop chanting, bells and feathery dream-catchers here) but she does have a wonderful sensitive, highly intuitive side. Oh yes, she's also an animal-lover to boot...although I don't think not being one yourself would be a dealbreaker!

OK, and and here's the obligatory cheesy bit...this lady has made me laugh, actual belly-laugh more times than I can honestly remember. And we're not talking that blah blah girlie-only laughing (cue THAT irksome Boots advert). No, no, no. Jan has a sense of humour that just lifts you. Wonderfully self-deprecating, hugely down-to-earth and with an appetite for finding the humour in life as much as possible. If Jan is in your circle of friends, you'll never be short of laughter. I really mean it. But, don't just take my word for it, get in touch with her and find it out for yourself.

And...if you look like Brian May, have the GSOH of Lee Mack and the moves of Mick (Jagger, not Hucknall), this could be the start of something beautiful.
