I am Gavin's big sister and surprisingly, he has agreed to me telling you a bit about him.

He grew up all over the world and returned to the UK in his 20's after a long period in Australia - still has a slight Aussie twang. He was a right pain as a little brother but he seems to have grown out of that.

He's one of life's good guys - a gentle giant but not introverted, open-minded and happy to try new things. He's pretty laid back but not horizontal. Having said that, he's tenacious and when he puts his mind to something will see it through. He's passionate about the issues that matter to him and can engage in a good debate without being arrogant or preachy. Gavin's quite a reflective man and pretty sussed about himself and others but thankfully does not have his head stuck up his backside and probably doesn't have much time for those that do..

He's more likely to be found on the sofa with a good bottle of wine, bingeing on a DVD boxed set rather than in the pub. Gavin is a great cook and despite his Nutrition background is not a food fascist! He gets quite serious about coffee and can become a bit too enthusiastic about new technology and gadgets. He's pretty much single handedly taken on a renovation property which keeps him busy but will be returning to University this year so it's kind of a new chapter in his life.

I'm trying to do this honestly and think of some of his not so good qualities but it is telling that nothing comes immediately to mind. Hope it's not been too vomit inducing.

He's a great Dad to his two kids and they come first in his life but it hasn't left him with much time for himself since his wife died. I think he needs someone who doesn't take themselves too seriously, knows their own mind and is happy to go with the flow. Get in touch with him - let's get him back out there.

Oh - worth noting that he has made a couple of my friends (lesbians) go "phwoar" - that's got to be worth a mention.
