About him
I'm a bit of an quirky guy, shy but up for trying new and interesting things if just the once. I like cooking, but want someone to share it with. Casual sports fan who is a bit obsessed by rugby. Not quite a nerd but definitely a geek - been a Doctor Who fan since I was a kid, dabble in a lot of other universes (the Hobbit is definitely better in Russian, especially the films...) but kinda want to see the cool stuff in this one too.
I'm a nineties kid, raised by books (I've adopted a few of my own) and got to this point through some quirky hobbies and dressing like it was 1799. Have more than a soft spot for Mario Kart - the best times are the ones you can share with others, especially when you've succeeded in snatching defeat from certain victory so epically that you can't help but laugh til it hurts.
Basically, if you're still reading this far you're probably fun, friendly and up for a laugh. If so, help - I'm trapped in a typing room with 999,999 other monkeys and I'm all out of Shakespeare...

James is one of my closest friends, and one of my favourite people to spend time with. He's funny, kind and is up for trying pretty much anything. He's interested in almost everything and loves to learn new things, so he always has something new to talk about. His love of geekery, books and games would mean he's a perfect match for someone with similar interests.
He is also a soppy romantic who loves to spoil people and is truly dedicated to his friends. If you need him, he'll be there and he'll listen (and probably feed you - his cooking is great!). He'll stick with you through thick and thin and someone interested in something long term would do well with James. If something feels wrong, he'll talk through any issues - he doesn't hold grudges and doesn't ignore problems, he'll do everything he can to make it work.

I've know James for years, having shared a martial arts class as teens to re-meeting at university and can say he's grown into a cracking guy. I could go on about sense of humour blah blah blah, but you'll work that out if you speak to him for more than two minutes. Instead I'll say the most important character trait James has is his willingness to be there, whether it's moving house or having a cry after a bad day at work. He's ready and willing to step up and listen or act as required. He's also interesting and tells great tales (tall or otherwise!) that will make you laugh or scoff. His stories about his time re-enacting are always good for a chuckle. As a geek gal myself I like his love of the Doctor and think a person with similar interests will find good conversation here.
On the more romantic side, James is a guy who likes relationships (no commitment phobe here) and is genuinely romantic at heart so a person who likes to have attention and time paid to them will thrive with him.
