About him
I suspect my friends would describe me as an enthusiastic and warm person who perhaps occasionally has to remind himself to let other people get a word in edgeways. I work in healthcare specialising in infectious disease, a brilliantly fulfilling job that has had me working across the UK, in rural and urban South Africa, and attempting some research in Vietnam. Currently based in Birmingham I am re-discovering old interests: brushing off the piano (never ask me to play in public), singing in a choir (never ask me to solo), and have joined the ranks of the MAMILs in triathlon training (but could not be considered very serious - I have just one item of lycra).
I am from a close family (brother, sisters, nephew and nieces - all in the southwest) and a Christian background. Ideal UK holiday? Few days with a buddy at the Edinburgh festival and then wild camping in the Highlands. Overseas? Drakensberg mountains of KwaZuluNatal. Ideal evening after work? Couple of pints of a craft ale with good friends having cracked that perfect balance of meaningless banter and meaningful conversation!
