About her
I am friendly, reasonably outgoing (can be bit reserved until I know someone!), and independent, with quite a dry sense of humour - was once told by a Navy mate that I have "weapons grade banter" - apparently this is good....?! I am honest, reliable and loyal and friends say I am incredibly organised - in fact I pretty much arrange all holidays with whichever group of them it involves!
My friends and family are important to me - especially the younger ones - and I like spending time with them, but of course as most have now got children, the social dynamic has inevitably changed. My sister has 3 teenagers (17yo girl/boy twins and a 18yo son - yup, same year!!) and my brother also has girl/boy twins (8) and a son (5) who are all fab, but for the last 15yrs at least one of us has been living abroad! I see my godchildren more regularly (17yo godson and 12yo goddaughter). Sadly my own children are not an option for me.
Brought up as Catholic, so do have Christian principles, but always struggled with some aspects and haven't practiced in years (love wandering around beautiful church buildings though! :-) ). I've lived for several years in both Scotland (uni) and Germany (work) and was born in Brunei with a few other family stints abroad due to my dad's army postings. Used to travel long haul a lot for work in a very exciting but quite stressful role (central govt); escaped Westminster for a brief while for a more sedate patch, but commuting there occasionally again. A lot out of my day, but it's nicer to be able to go back to my own home every night, having weekly commuted for several years. Love the culture that London has to offer but much prefer the greenery and fresh air of the countryside - and country pubs! We are lucky with those in this area.
I really love travelling with lots still on the bucket list; will always have a camera with me; enjoy regular pilates classes (but prob not a sporty pants) and want to get back into dancing again; and moving to a house I had to embrace gardening for the first time!
About her ideal match
There has to be some attraction, but more importantly I am looking for someone who is outgoing, friendly and intelligent with good banter who will make me laugh. Decent conversational/social skills are a must - someone you can take anywhere and comfortably introduce to anyone.
Honesty (even when truth hurts) and integrity are very important to me, especially someone who also values and respects their friends and family. A gentleman in other words.
I am quite tall at 5'9, so reasonably taller than me is a definite must!
Lastly someone who will broaden my horizons, challenge me to try new things, and is also interested in travelling. Capturing images of the people and places I've seen is my thing...but visiting new places is that much better if you have a buddy to share the experience and memories with...

Laura is truly one in a million and a girly friend I have had the pleasure to know since I moved to Wiltshire 6 years ago. She will hypnotise you with her culinary expertise and social etiquette (her parents and her army brat schooling have served her well). A little coy with a wicked sense of humour, she will always state that her flirtatiousness is unintentional but her closer friends know better. In the workplace, she is strong and in control but shows no diva-like behaviour. She is well liked and admired by the crusty surveyors whom she works alongside who long for her youth and obvious charm.
I have never attended a party which she has never danced at, which she does well. She does not drink to excess (she can't) and will inadvertently curl her lip if you deign to be a smoker (she never has) and eats her five portions of fruit and veg daily (without fail).
Warm, honest, likable and amazingly normal, she is most likely to be a perfect tour guide, nationally and internationally (due to her extensive globe trotting over the past 5 years). She will suggest the best places to go out to and see and will never forget yours or your gran's birthday and her cards are never late.
She is a great friend, naturally witty and always good company. She is very organised and utterly dependable. Like I said, one in a million!
