I'm looking for a partner in crime. Not a criminal though. I can't emphasise that enough. Not into felons. At all. A policewoman / detective would be a real twist, so that's a possible. I mean someone who has her own set of hobbies, interests and tastes. Someone with a brain in her head, opinions, imagination and a pretty decent smile. I'm not materialistic but if she also has a large country estate I could buy some wellies and get a dog.

The first time my wife met him she was having trouble with the horse she was out riding and Tristan rode up like someone from a Jane Austen novel and helped her out. That night she described him to me as 'dreamy'. Note to wives everywhere - don't use this word when describing another man.
I was annoyed to discover subsequently that I really liked him. He's a very intelligent guy who's always a hit at dinner parties as he's got that 'quietly confident' quality. He's especially passionate about things like theatre (he's a director in his spare time), current affairs, books (he eats them for breakfast), music and films. Basically, he's on my speed dial for pub quizzes.
But just to be sure I asked around to see what other friends thought and I kept hearing the same things over and over again: 'thoughtful', 'generous', 'healthy living' and 'responsible' cropped up a lot. But the best quote I heard about him was from his sister-in-law. I asked her why she thought Tris hadn't found Miss Right by now and she said 'he's very patient'.
He's a man with a lot of contrasts in his character. He's very confident but also quite shy. He's arty but also a bit of a geek. He loves champagne but he doesn't ski. He cooks but he can't stomach seafood, which was frankly hilarious when we were on holiday in Malaysia.
So if you're a truly special girl who's been looking for one of those genuinely good guys then I recommend that you get in touch with Tris as fast as possible.
I hope you ride off into the sunset together on a variety of amazing adventures and you can be dreamy together and not give my wife any more ideas.
