About him
My sister's friends call me 003 and a half because they think I am a spy but they are not really sure. It is probably because I spend my working life visiting obscure locations that tend not to be in Tripadvisor's top 100 places to visit. Strangely enough my work is more Basildon than James so maybe the moniker is appropriate. The important thing is I am passionate about what I do and it has taken me to some beautiful and not so beautiful places.
Back at home you are more likely to find me in a coffee shop than a pub. I love a good home cooked dinner but I also enjoy a good restaurant or decent pub grub . My perfect Saturday is a tourist parkrun followed by breakfast and an afternoon reading the paper and doing the weekend crossword. Sunday morning is a more leisurely long cross-country run with friends from my local running club followed by coffee and brunch.
I love TK Maxx - I went to try and buy a sunhat (there is a story behind that) and came out with a great pair of wellies. I live in a flat so I have no real need for wellies but that is the beauty of TK Maxx - it is helping me seek new activities as I have spent the afternoon googling "large puddles in my area".
I collect art, I love design and always look up when I am in a new town. I was recently in London for a few days and spent my time on the bus so I could see all the beautiful architecture. I also had a great time at the Natural History Museum, V&A and the Wellcome Foundation.
I love to pick blackberries, make crumbles with rhubarb from my friend's garden and long for a cold day so I can make stew and dumplings.
Pointless is my favourite tv programme and I am pretty good on getting pointless answers when it comes to naming obscure countries or cities.
About his ideal match
I am aware that I am different from the average chap. I am a Yorskshireman at heart with the requisite amount of sarcasm, sympathy (see reference to sarcasm) and opinion. At the same time I am an international citizen given the work I do and the amount of time I have spent out of the UK.
Therefore I would like to meet someone who is different, quirky, cultured and interesting. Someone who is passionate about something they do and has a good work life balance. Someone who is soft but strong, feminine but robust, intelligent but practical, witty but sincere. Someone I can talk to and most importantly someone with a pair of wellies - preferably with some suitable places to wear them!
