I adore swimming in a warm sea & scrunching my toes in the sand, rewatching Bob Hoskin's last scene in The Long Good Friday, Roy Budd's Get Carter, driving with a friend on a warm night, roof down, listening to “Tears" by Frankie Knuckles or Mozart's "Lacrimosa", the smell of wood smoke on the air, the colours of autumn, laughing at Mid-Morning Matters, Kenneth Armitage, a real fire, my dog, travelling. I do not drink or smoke anymore. I dislike arrogance, pointy shoes, ineffective headphones, wandering apostrophes, spitting, cruelty, the Daily Mail and contempt prior to investigation.

I would love to meet a man who is kind, confident without being over-bearing, funny and eloquent. Somebody who has travelled and experienced other cultures. A companion to visit galleries, the cinema, theatres, great restaurants and go on country walks with, who is comfortable in his own skin, able to socialise with everybody, who can dance and kiss with joy. Someone who knows his Klimt from his Kandinsky, his Adeva from his Aly-Us, he is happy in his career and is comfortable financially. He is emotionally mature, can discuss his feelings and be open with me.

I have known Pip for 16 years, which is a shame considering we grew up in the same area and had mutual friends but did not meet until our 30s and I wish we our paths had crossed sooner. She has enhanced my life in so many ways - as a friend, a confident, a critic (she's refreshingly honest) and she's someone I can relax with, laugh (uproariously) with, visit restaurants, cultural events and watch trash tv with, usually with some good natured scorn thrown in.
