About him
Easy going, genuine, erudite and intelligent and tattoo free gent with a dry sense of humour who can be a little little self deprecating at times but is kind hearted and a good listener. WLTM a woman (slim/athletic/average build) for friendship to start with and hopefully more. I have no children.
I'm not a gregarious extrovert and prefer conversation, eating out or hand in hand, walks in quieter surroundings than loud clubs and pubs.
After several tough challenges in recent years, I'm stronger and more grounded these days. I took up mindfulness meditation for a time and then started Salsa classes. This proved to be too hard so I tried Ceroc (modern jive) instead which I enjoyed a lot. Unfortunately, This has not been available locally for some time but I'd like to start again.
As for pets, I have none now but I'm more of a cat lover than a dog lover although I do like Huskies and Malamutes.
Although I'm 59, I'm quite youthful in appearance and I go to the gym regularly for body and soul so If you also like working out and/or staying in shape then that's a bonus.
My other interests include the internet, long walks, history and current affairs, architecture, music and film. My cooking skills are quite basic and I'm no DIY expert.
My biggest passion is foreign city breaks and I've been to many wonderful places with much more still to do. I've recently returned from The Hague.
As I've always lived near cities and towns I do not to drive, so I'm looking for someone who is not going to judge me too harshly over this. I am not expecting a taxi service but I live by my own values so I'm looking for someone who will hopefully enjoy a date however I arrive. Maybe you don't drive either.
I'm in Loughborough much of the week and Nottingham, Leicester, Derby and East Midlands Airport are on my doorstep as is the railway.
My most recent job was as a claims adviser but I've also worked for a mail order company and an airline previously.
