About her
I’ve always been an independent, energetic, eternally curious sort of person, lucky to have been able to indulge my travelling passion through both work and leisure. ( I worked in market research and ran my own company for 20 years )
I thrive on discovering new places and cultures, making new friends and trying new experiences. Since my husband died 6 years ago, I’ve consciously tried to shake things up, seize life and go for it!
Spectacular scenery makes me feel alive. Ideally, wild and remote, and preferably staying somewhere with a degree of comfort and character, but not five star ostentation (I’m allergic to big hotels and cruise ships ). I love exploring different parts of the UK just as much as going abroad.
When at home in the Cotswolds, I’m a real homebody, growing my own fruit and vegetables, making chutney and cakes, and enjoying the vagaries of the English summer and all its traditions .
You’ll find me jogging through the fields or local lanes most days, going for long walks with friends, playing tennis , and occasionally acting as copilot for friends who fly. ( despite being blonde, I can navigate !)
In the winter, I spend a few months abroad somewhere sunny, usually including time in South Africa, where I have many friends and love the lifestyle.
I’m happy with my own company, and that of my wide circle of friends, but would love another close , fulfilling relationship, ideally, with someone who will challenge and encourage me to explore new avenues in my life.
