A lovely, fun loving free spirit, Shalini has lived life to the full with many an incredible tale to tell - ask her about car-jackings in Kenya or staircases collapsing around her in Bali. She's unusual in that she's very chilled out but she's always on the go: very sociable with loads of friends all over the place. She loves travelling and in the last year she's spent time in South Africa, Australia, the USA and Indonesia. She's freelance writer and organises literary festivals in Africa, which allows her the flexibility to do this.
Vices? Time-keeping! And driving?! Her battered old, white Fiat Panda was permanently covered in black sticky tape the result of a new "incident" of someone running into her (never, of course, the other way round!). No point in trying to repair the damage - it would have cost more than the car was worth!
