I've had the pleasure of knowing Jon for 9 years through work, in publishing.
Jon is one of those people who you at once feel comfortable with because of his immediate warmth and honesty. He has no pretences, airs or graces, and is genuinely one of the 'nice guys' in life.
I've never known a man with so many interests, chiefly books and music -he reads voraciously, adores Bruce Springsteen (seriously now). But then he's boxing nerd and can talk politics on both sides of the Atlantic like an expert.
He's supportive of his friends, always has an ear and shoulder if you need it. He loves a good coffee and chat. He's funny, observant and playful.
He's close to his family - get him talking about his nieces and you can see how much of a kid he can be. He adores them and they adore him.
I love having Jon as a friend. He's just one of those people, reliable, non judgemental, kind. To me, those attributes go a long way. To you, I hope, the whole way.
