Having known Hugh for 15 years, I can safely say that hanging out with him is always guaranteed to be unpredictable, interesting, and sometimes exciting.
He's very gregarious, outgoing, enthusiastic and amusing. never boorish or blokey - he's a successful artist and his thoughtful, open-minded and sensitive side counteracts this.
He seems to love the countryside. being, relatively speaking, a Southern city kid myself, this isn't a side of him with which i'm particularly familiar. so that's something that you're going to have to explore with him... his enthusiasm for life does sometimes carry him away - so be prepared for the possibility of popping out for a bag of chips and waking up in a small hotel near the Sacré-Cœur. believe me. this has happened.
