Profession: NHS Operative
I spent many years repairing mobile phones and working in retail including management, but more recently have been working for the NHS supply chain. Alas, in June 2022 I caught Meningitis and spent most of that summer in hospital. I am still off work sick (as of February 2024) but hope to return to work soon. I now walk with a stick and am able to drive (preferably fairly short distances) but I hope to make a full recovery. Over the years I have been described as "a bit eccentric" and "a complex character" and "that random comedy Christian guy". My house has been described as a "museum of the 20th century". I am a big Doctor Who fan and collect memorabilia. Other favourite TV shows include Bargain Hunt, Pointless, and Have I Got News For You.
Music is extremely important to me. I have been a music journalist, an indie/alternative DJ in local clubs and a band photographer and videographer. I have also performed myself in the last few years. I like to support my local music scene. My favourite music acts include David Devant & His Spirit Wife, Puressence, David Bowie, Kasabian, The Killers, Arcade Fire, Radiohead, Hot Chip, OMD, Blur and Pulp. I generally dislike rap/hiphop and very heavy metal. If your favourite acts are the likes of Westlife, Celine Dion, Ed Sheeran or Taylor Swift then you are again probably not the right person for me. I like living within walking distance of town centres and railway stations, largely because of my interests, although I like visiting the countryside as I'm interested in wildlife and butterflies.
I plan to build a model railway in my garage, but this keeps getting delayed.
I enjoy photography be it bands, steam trains or butterflies or whatever. I'm a very creative person and I am completely baffled by sport, although I try to follow football. I try to see a glass half-full in every day life, but sometimes it is easier said than done. I can't stand political extremism of any kind. I was/am very anti-Brexit.
About his ideal match
I am looking for someone who is open-minded, possibly a Christian or from a Christian background. If that someone is a Doctor Who fan or has similar music tastes that would certainly be an advantage. It would be nice to find someone to go to gigs with or go for walks in the country with.
