When I first saw Liz some 20 years ago - I hated her. Despite wearing the most truly awful blue glasses, she was surrounded by the "cool" boys at Saturday morning orchestra - I hated it, she loved it. I later found out that her passion for this was due not for a love for creating sweet music but due to the copious amounts of alcohol and the hours of spin the bottle they used to play whilst on tours.

Anyway, 20 years later and minus the specs (and the fiddle) she is a best friend - and what a fabulous, vivacious, friend she is! Never a dull moment when she's around.She is equally happy in some far flung corner of the world (don't get the impression that she is happy slumming it - she isn't) as she is sitting in her PJs watching car crash TV all weekend. Extraordinary yet perfectly normal, she doesn't conform to one stereotype, but rather possesses the best traits of many. She is the life and soul, and normally instigator, of parties - anything from formal dinners to her favourite - fancy dress with a bit of karaoke thrown in for good measure!

With tales ranging from being quarantined in China with suspected Swine Flu to self-induced colonic irrigation water-skiing in Croatia, fun of the calamitous variety follow this girl. However with a sensible head on her shoulders combined with a joie de vivre, she always seems to sidestep these tricky situations and add them to her portfolio of life-enhancing experiences. That said, she's also a jammy sod - if a bit of luck is involved, it'll seek her out.

So what kind of man would be a treat for my girl Liz? Well, like her, someone who is extraordinary yet normal. She'll require an "able" man - someone who doesn't need to refer to a manual to fix, build or dismantle something. Someone who's not afraid to give anything a go, someone with opinions who enjoys an intelligent debate and has a healthy competitive streak and someone who's comfortable in their own skin - Clark Kents need not apply - alter egos only!
