About her
Hi!
I'm a smiley, liberal, sociable type, and love spending time with my friends and family. I recently moved jobs from Nottinghamshire to London, which has resulted in my relocation down to the south east, where I'm currently trying to find my feet.
I love hiking, and I've got a gorgeous golden retriever, so she gives me even more of an excuse to stick on the walking boots. I also have an alarming fondness for gym classes, the more evil the better - HIIT is my current nemesis.
Travel is important to me, both within the UK and further afield. I enjoy beach holidays but given the choice I tend to prefer a bit of exploring. I love music too and going to gigs - my music collection has got a bit of everything, from metal and hip hop to opera, but at heart I'll always be an old-school rocker. Quite a lot of my old favourite bands from back in the day seem to have started touring again recently, which is pretty ace. Apparently I've reached that age where music from my heyday is 'retro'...!
Oh, and I just turned 40 and fine with it. No midlife crises to see here. Honest...
About her ideal match
I like chaps who are easy-going but with a bit of fire in the belly and a twinkle in the eye. Someone who enjoys a bit of debate over a glass of wine. It would also be great if I met someone who also enjoyed the outdoors and fitness, although I should say I'm not really a runner (I dabble, but my dodgy knees always win the battle).
I'm always looking for the next adventure - it'd be great if I could meet someone to share those adventures with.

I have known Lu for more than half my life. Back in the day it was all Metallica, Nine Inch Nails, black hair and Doc Martins. Today she still has the same great taste in music, but it's much broader; Radio 4 even gets a look in and she has developed a more stylish dress sense. She always looks great in whatever she wears.
Lu appreciates all that's good in life: the countryside, country walks, country pubs, city life, city pubs, white wine, red wine, GnT, cocktails or a good ole pint of real ale. She's the Queen of books, loves a good read, practically has a small library in her sitting room. And she's definitely 'the book' before 'the film'. If she's not reading then, you'll find her teamed up with her trusted companion, Peggy, the loveliest yet also somewhat most ridiculous dog in the world. Peggy will be there on those city walks, countryside walks and will make many a friend down the pub. Both are experienced at camping, they've survived some camping holiday storms and heatwaves. Peggy likes to maintain fitness by an enforced 12 mile walk or a run around a big field/park. Lu on the other hand maintains hers by some hardcore HIIT or boxing class at the gym.
She's a very clever girl our Lu, she's a good puzzle cracker and totally up on those current affairs. She's very well travelled and has great tales to tell from visiting the States, Australia and Ireland.
If you don't know the answer to something, ask Lu! She knows the answer to loads of random stuff. You have to watch her though - if she doesn't know the answer she will just make it up and has the amazing ability to convince you that it's true! She has a brilliant sense of humour, can make you laugh on a daily basis and is truly a person who cares so much for everyone in her life.

I'll admit, I was a little nervous about writing this, because I wasn't sure how I was going to put down in words something that describes how fabulous Lu really is......but I'm going to try, here goes:
The first things that come to mind when I think about Lu is her strength, feistiness (she really doesn't suffer fools gladly) and the fact that she's such a smart, intelligent and well-read woman!
Lu is an absolutely brilliant friend: so kind, loads of fun (she loves a good night out with wine or a cocktail or two!) and funny (remind me to tell you some of Lu's anecdotes!). Whilst she has her serious side, she is hilariously self-depreciating!
Lu is independent and adventurous, I mean, come on, how many of us would have the courage to up-sticks, leave their family and friends and the comfort of home, and move down south for an adventure?
I feel privileged to know Lu and whoever snaps her up is a genuinely lucky guy! x
