In some ways Kate is not an ideal choice as best friend - she's too pretty, too sexy.....all the boys fancy her! Thankfully, she has many other qualities that make up for the years I've spent in the shadow of her beauty and charisma.

Kate is a sensitive, warm, loyal, thoughtful, honest and generous friend - beautiful inside and out. We've been bosom buddies for over 20 years, and she is the girlfriend that I most look forward to spending time with, that I feel most relaxed with.

She is a nurturing and creative Mum to Harry (8), a role that she tackles with love, energy and dedication. Her fantastic multi-tasking skills are evidenced both by her successful fledgling business and by her title as 'hostess with the mostest' party-organiser extraordinaire. Although our social lives have calmed down somewhat in recent years, Kate's previous flat was the scene of many a legendary, weekend-long gathering. As a natural rapport-builder she has a talent for bringing people together and ensuring that they have a damn good time.

Kate loves off-the-grid music festivals (I think five in one year is the current record) as they appeal to her sense of community, creativity and general chilled-ness. She is a bit of a hippy really, but one that prefers glamping, essential oils and a cashmere wrap to patchouli and a poncho.

She is also enquiring and intelligent - both in the academic sense and in the emotional, spiritual sense (she has established her own therapy practice drawing on her expertise in EFT).

I hope this doesn't make her sound too serious because, as focused and determined as she is, she is also a funny, glamorous and laid-back chick with a penchant for a glass of chilled Chablis. If you were lucky enough to spend an evening spent with Kate it would be relaxed, interesting and fun - and I very much doubt you would want the evening to end..... She won't be on the market for long gents.

Oh, and she has a killer rack.
