I am good company, I am quite curious about the world, and have travelled to many places, some a little of the beat and track, e.g. I was in Uzbekistan last year. My friends tend to have a diverse set of views on current affairs.
My sporty interests are scuba diving and sailing, and I play badminton regularly. For relaxing, I enjoy country walks, pub lunches, and cooking.

Sharing everything is not important to me, having said that, I would want my partner to enjoy interesting travel, so someone who could be reasonably flexible. I would also be hoping to share an enjoyment of food and wine. Vegetarianism could be a bit of a deal breaker for me.

Jules is great! But why? I've never had to think about that before - but I think these are some of the reasons:
He's really good company. My wife aside, he'd be my first choice of companion on a desert island. You always have great conversations with Jules. He can find the interest in just about anything and enjoys good conversation: expressing a view; listening to yours; forming opinions and having a laugh. And he's always inclined to find the positive in any situation (but not in an annoying, "American" way!). He's quite up on politics/economics; enjoys a good book/film; and has travelled lots - including South America, Australia (where he studied for a year), through Europe and into Iran. Just this year he's been trekking in Nepal and spent time in Greece and learnt to sail, but he's not an action man and is just as happy whiling away a few hours in a local pub with a pint.
He's considerate and thoughtful. Some people are a bit wrapped up in themselves, but Jules isn't like that. I think he's good at seeing the other person's perspective and is quick to think about what they'd like. He enjoys life and takes great pleasure in making other people happy. So, he's a great host - looking after people when he has parties or having people over for lunch.
I've known Jules for over 20 years and think he's a really lovely, well-rounded guy. He has a kind heart and is utterly loyal and trustworthy. I am proud to call him my friend.
