Rachel and I first met 14 years ago at work. We bonded over a shared love of food, a passion for travel and high metabolisms.

She has an enviable adventurous streak, travelling worldwide to Vietnam, South Africa, Australia and SE Asia, but is equally at home in the Yorkshire Dales. Rach takes great delight in trying new sports that seem to involve mud or snow. A keen mountain biker, she loyally waits for me at the bottom of a hill with a huge grin on her face after a lack of brake use. Hill walking together involves a clamber to the highest view point, a good leg stretch, pub meal and cheeky pint. Skiing, diving, horse riding and tennis also show her adventurous side but Rach is just as happy going for a local dog walk, camping trip or just relaxing with a good book when she gets the chance.

She is determined; In her early 30's, she took the plunge to follow her girlhood dream of becoming a Vet. She took the onerous training in her stride. Just another adventure! But this time with studies in the West Indies.Happily for me she is now back home, not far from me.

A loyal and caring friend, Rach was my fun and organised bridesmaid. She is now an extended part of our family, being great with my young baby. A natural beauty, she can turn from mud bunny to glamour puss as the occasion requires. She is very sociable and good fun to be with but is also self reliant, driven and productive.

With her vet work, she tends to meet more old ladies with blind poodles than dashing, athletic gents with labradors (although dog not required!) so I'm putting her on MSF.
