I can't understand how my brother Mark is single, so I'm nudging him towards internet dating. Get in line, ladies, because he's a bit of a catch.

Enthusiasm is the main word that comes to mind when I think of my brother. Mark has endless passion for a dazzling array of subjects. These include economics, poetry, capoeira, organisational development, ecology, jams (musical not culinary), and the wild outdoors. He's more than able to hold down a conversation on any topic you can suggest, and brims with knowledge but never self-importance. Because Mark's enthusiasm is catching, he's exceptionally fun company no matter what he does.

Fitness is also really important to him. Not that he's a gym dude. He's more likely to be caught walking on his hands than preening in front of mirrors. When Mark recently worried he'd fallen out of shape, he only meant that his arm balances had slipped! In any case, he soon got back into tip-top condition.

Other good points are that he can cook a decent curry, speaks a few different languages, is happy to walk dogs, has travelled the world, and doesn't have a mean bone in his body. You can also call him in a 3am emergency, which in my experience is the most important quality of all.

Selfishly, I'd like Mark to find someone kind and grounded who can match his passion for life. But if that sounds like a lot of demands, then you might just want to meet him for a drink and see how it goes? He's a good conversationalist, so it won't be a waste of time!
