Hi, I'm Stuart. I think Ali's glowing recommendation covers nearly everything you need to know but just to add, I work as a horse-racing journalist and additionally as an economist, theoretically in Oxford but does anyone go to the office any more? I like all sorts of music, sport and spending time with my nephew (6) and niece (3). I'm a keen cook, and enjoy trying new recipes.

My single friend Stu is funny without being silly, clever without being a smart-arse and sensitive without being soft. If you can forgive his tendency to grumpiness in the morning, he is an all round good guy. He is interested and knowledgeable in many things and is my 'go to' person when I need sound advice. He is also great fun to be with - whether it's a trip to the races (press perks of course!), a music concert, a slap-up meal or just a drink in some quirky pub - he's the man. He is financially buoyant and generous but not a push-over. He is just as happy in the countryside as in the big smoke but I have a sneaky feeling, if pressed, the countryside would win. Although outwardly quite conventional, he likes adventures and trying new things. To top it all, he is an accomplished maker of curries. If he meets the right girl, he may well be a little more cheery early morning!
